The Problem

Northern Hideaways offers a premium collection of luxury holiday cottages across Northumberland, but their digital presence wasn't matching the high-end, VIP experience of their properties. A major technical pain point was the booking journey: users were forced to navigate away from the main site to a clunky, third-party booking portal. This disjointed user experience was causing massive drop-offs, resulting in lost direct bookings and forcing the business to rely heavily on expensive OTA platform commissions (like Airbnb and Booking.com).

The Solution

We designed a visually stunning, high-conversion digital platform that truly reflects the luxury of the NH Collection. To solve the booking drop-off, I engineered a fully bespoke, self-coded PHP API from scratch. This custom API seamlessly links a beautiful, frontend date-search form directly to their backend booking management system. Now, guests can search dates, view live availability, and initiate their bookings effortlessly without ever leaving the homepage—drastically increasing direct revenue and user trust.
